THIS IS SPORTING GOOD.
Kids who play team sports have a better shot at a successful adult life, but for the past decade, less and less kids across the US are signing up. It’s time for Sporting Good: a movement built around inspiring and encouraging today’s youth to sign up not only for the team, but for the lessons and growth that will propel them toward a brighter future.
Dick’s partners with local schools across all of their 700+ locations to hold youth team sports sign-ups in the store. The multi-day event includes gear packages, guidance and workshops for athletes, parents and coaches help to create a strong support network for the kids, and each store recognizes and celebrates those who are Sporting Good in their community.
Sporting Good Days
…are for those who have yet to get one. We think it’s time for the local youth sports umpires, referees, booth announcers, groundskeepers, physical therapists and die-hard youth sports fans across the US to be recognized as part of the Sporting Good team. Those selected from youth team nominations will be celebrated in a ceremony for their effort and dedication, along with a custom Sporting Good X school team jersey.
New Team Jerseys
…is a partnership with Sports Illustrated to spread awareness of the alarming downward trend in the participation of youth team sports, and act as an announcement for how Dick’s is working to change that through Sporting Good. The special issue takeover carries the tone of the campaign, while celebrating those unsung heroes active in local youth sports across the US.
Sporting Good Illustrated
…is a grassroots social campaign which pays tribute to the coaches in our lives, past and present. The open letters posted to social platforms encourage everyone to write and share their own stories of how Coach helped them not only on the field, but in life.
Thanks Coach
